Job Description
Prosper Girls Lacrosse Club is Hiring for the position of Head Varsity Coach and Program Director. Prosper Texas is one of the fastest growing communities in North Texas and offers the right candidate a tremendous opportunity in Texas Girls Lacrosse. The Head coach will oversee varsity and junior varsity programs, along with the selection and management of assistant coaches. The program is supported by an excellent youth level organization and a highly involved community. Multiple graduates have continued playing in college and recent success includes program records in wins and a State Final appearance in 2021.
Applicants with prior playing and coaching experience, particularly at the high school level, are preferred but all applications are welcomed. Successful applicants must be able to supervise competition and practice after school hours as well as on weekends.
Qualifications and Duties
Possesses previous successful coaching and/or playing experience
Serves as an appropriate role model for student-athletes through instructions and actions
Instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize individual and team success
Instructs and demonstrates behaviors that lead to character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student-athletes
Exhibits excellent sportsmanship
Provide positive atmosphere for developing and skilled players
Ability to lead, manage and train multiple teams (JV and Varsity)
Possess the capacity for maintaining good public relations with parents, community, lacrosse board, other coaches and officials
Work with youth program to create an entire Lacrosse program
Follows all policies and procedures of the school district, league, US Lacrosse and club
Provides organization of coaches, players and guests for team functions
Operates appropriately in matters related to public relations and maintains appropriate communication with news media, boosters, parents, officials, and members of the community
Must be available to work nights and weekends
