UPPER SCHOOL: GIRLS LACROSSE HEAD COACH
JOB DESCRIPTION
REPORTS TO:
Assistant Athletic Director, Girls’ Athletic Programs
WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
On/off-campus responsibilities from 3:30 pm until 6:30 pm Monday through Friday. Coaching responsibilities may result in extended weekday or weekend commitments. All coaches are employed on a seasonal basis and continued employment is based on annual performance reviews conducted by the Athletic Director and/or Assistant Athletic Director, Girls’ Athletic Programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the Athletic department, the head coach of Girls Lacrosse is responsible for initiating various aspects of the lacrosse program, such as program development, training, and coaching team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Parish Episcopal School. Parish Episcopal School is a member TAPPS.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Parish Episcopal School
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept;
- 3-5 years of Coaching or playing experience;
- Effective leadership, coaching and recruiting skills;
- Excellent communication skills with players, parents, and the athletic department;
- Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive small school bus.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Encourage, train, and coach the participants of the Girls Lacrosse program (Grades 9-12);
- Coordinate the development and promotion of the Girls Lacrosse program (Grades 7-12) in conjunction with the mission of the school;
- Collaborate with the Athletics department on hiring, retention, evaluation, and professional development of the Girls Lacrosse coaching staff;
- Schedule and organize practice sessions;
- Schedule games in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director;
- Coordinate camp selection with families of players wishing to be more competitive and work closely with the College Counseling office in the recruitment/placement of players in NCAA lacrosse programs;
- Represent Parish Episcopal School and the Girls Lacrosse program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship;
- Generate additional support of the program by running clinics & camps (Grades Pre-k--6).
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the season
